About Us (and our masochism)

The founding members of The Inkwell Project are Dylan Tatum, Alice Martin, and Griffin Tordella. We are all college freshman in North Carolina who have decided to do something as daring and utterly moronic as writing a short story every week in the quest to improve ourselves and our writing.

Writing is the key to becoming a good writer, right? So excessive, obsessive writing must be essential in becoming an awesome writer... right?

Well, I guess we'll find out.

Blog Schedule
Tuesday: New Staff story is posted (as well as a submitted story chosen by a staff member, if possible. These will be posted under the Submissions tab)
Wednesday: Prompt for the next week goes up
Saturday: Staff workshopping letters go up as comments on the main page

That is, at least, as long as we have only three members. That's right. We want YOU!

The Inkwell Project isn't a closed enterprise. We'd love to have some company in this quixotic quest across the literary landscape, and hope anyone who's interested will join us in going there and back again. If you're interested in taking the short-story-a-week challenge, or even in just participating biweekly or when you can, just e-mail us (inkwell.blogspot@gmail.com) with your name, a brief, 1-2 sentence bio, etc. and we can add you to the Project!

If we can start getting some submissions from other authors, then along with one of our Staff stories, we will post another submitted story on Tuesday. This story will also be workshopped by the Staff on the The Chopping Block and will be open to review by the public.

Submitting a Story
1) Join the club! Get involved in The Inkwell Project!
2) E-mail us (inkwell.blogspot@gmail.com) your piece of short fiction that you'd like to submit.
3) Our Staff will review the works we received for the week and choose one as our Staff Pick.
4) If yours is selected, it will be posted under the Submissions page and also reviewed by Staff (and others, if they are willing to throw in their comments!).

We hope to see members, submitted works, and a flourishing writing community here on The Inkwell Project!

Good luck, adventurers, and happy writing!
